AcYut - India's first indigenous humanoid robot

AcYut - meaning "The Imperishable" in Sanskrit, is the series of humanoids developed at the Centre for Robotics and Intelligent Systems, BITS Pilani.

The team of consists of undergraduate students guided by Dr. B.K. Rout at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani, India.

AcYut is India's first indigenously designed autonomous humanoid and has been supported by various sponsors, including the Govt. Of India(DEITY) and BITSAA.

AcYut has represented India at various international platforms including RoboCup, RoboGames, MIT, Stanford etc. AcYut is also consistently India's only entry to the highly advanced Humanoid Teen Sized Soccer Leagues at Robocup where robots play soccer autonomously.

Fully Autonomous

AcYut is equipped with a RGB Camera for Vision and Inertial Measurement Unit for spatial orientation as provided by the Vestibular apparatus in human body. It therefore makes decisions independently based on these sensors.

State of the Art

At CRIS, BITS Pilani, Team AcYut is constantly implementing robust algorithms in the field of humanoid robotics. We believe in development of motor, sensory and cognitive abilities of humans as accurately as possible to our robots.

Cutting-Edge Research

In addition to making the robot more robust, the team continously works on research and development to improve existing technologies and develop new ones. We have published papers in three international conferences.
